Vooruit-exe

In 2006 werkt Vooruit al voor de 3de keer samen met het Internationaal Filmfestival van Vlaanderen Gent. Met een programma dat de fricties tussen film en andere genres opzoekt, wil Vooruit een weerbarstige partner zijn voor het festival. In de rand van het rijke en gevarieerde programma van het tiendaags filmfestival, ontwikkelt Vooruit een nieuw, sterk label: Almost Cinema.

Tijdens de zomermaanden werkte Christine De Smedt van het Gentse collectief Les Ballets C. de la B. in de Dansstudio van Vooruit aan een nieuwe creatie: Once Upon a Time. Voor dat project vertrok De Smedt van stereotiepe duo’s: Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers, Bonnie & Clyde, Beavis & Butthead, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, ... Ze liet de personages in andere contexten en verhalen opduiken.

De link tussen kunst en wetenschap is één van de rode draden in de programmering van Vooruit. Onder de noemer Kunst & Wetenschap worden verschillende activiteiten opgezet, o.m. het Homo Futuris festival in september 2006. Zie www.kunstenwetenschap.be.

Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat is de (on)welluidende naam voor het soloproject van de jonge Belgische muzikant en instrumentenbouwer Stef Heeren. Heeren tekent voor donkere folksongs met etnische instrumenten (bv. de tampura).
In augustus 2006 blikte KTAOABC in de Emielruimte van Vooruit de basis in van zijn tweede CD: akoestische gitaren, bas en zangpartijen. De andere instrumenten worden in het najaar op andere locaties opgenomen.

Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat is the euphonious (or not) name of the solo project by the young Belgian musician and instrument-maker Stef Heeren. He makes dark folk songs using ethnic instruments (e.g. the tampura).
In August 2006 KTAOABC recorded the basis for its second CD in the Emiel Room at the Vooruit: acoustic guitars, bass and vocals. The other instruments will be recorded at other venues in the autumn.

Op 15 september beleef je in Vooruit de internationale première van IMPLANT, een interactieve virtuele wereld en publieke installatie van het kunstenaarsduo Thomas Soetens en Kora Van den Bulcke van Workspace Unlimited. IMPLANT is al de 3de virtuele omgeving in een netwerk van virtuele werelden (common grounds network) toegankelijk via kunstencentra. De rode draad: elke creatie is zowel conceptueel als fysiek aan een partnerorganisatie gebonden en doet je reflecteren over (de vervaging van) het onderscheid tussen reëel en virtueel …

On 15 September at the Vooruit it was the international opening of Implant, an interactive virtual world and public installation by the artist duo Thomas Soetens and Kora Van den Bulcke of Workspace Unlimited. Implant is already the third virtual environment in a network of virtual worlds (the common grounds network) that is accessible through arts centres. The common theme is that each creation is both conceptually and physically tied to a partner organisation and is intended to make you reflect on the distinction between real and virtual, and the blurring of this distinction.

In Vooruit verloopt de volledige telefonie tegenwoordig over het 10-gigabit computernetwerk. Zo heeft Vooruit vandaag een draadloos netwerk, 80 vaste en 20 draadloze IP-telefoons evenals een IP-telefooncentrale of CallManager van Cisco in gebruik.

In the Vooruit the entire telephone system now goes through the 10 gigabit computer network. This means it has a wireless network, 80 fixed and 20 wireless telephones and also a Cisco IP telephone switchboard or CallManager.
