INTERFACE, academic platform for art and science
INTERFACE is het nieuw opgerichte academisch platform dat de raakvlakken tussen kunst en wetenschap wil opzoeken. De interuniversitaire stuurgroep van INTERFACE wil in de eerste plaats actoren en instituten samenbrengen die de kunst en wetenschap in theorie en praktijk verkennen.
INTERFACE is a newly established academic platform that tries to find common ground between the art and the science world. INTERFACE’s inter university steering group mainly wants to bring together actors and institutes that explore arts and sciences in theory and in practice.
De leden van de stuurgroep zijn Christel Stalpaert (UGent), Wim De Temmerman (KASK), Robrecht Vanderbeeken (UGent), Dirk Aerts (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Clea) en Maaike Bleeker (Universiteit Utrecht). Vooruit is een van de culturele partners in dit project naast Muhka_Media, Argos, Jan van Eyck academie, Hisk en IBK. Meer op www.interface.ugent.be

Vooruit is one of the many cultural partners. Others include: Muhka_Media (media arts division of the Museum for Contemporary Art, Antwerp), Argos (Brussels-based arts and media centre), Jan Van Eyck academie (institute for research and production in the fields of fine art, design and theory, Maastricht, the Netherlands), HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts, Ghent) and IBK (Organisation for Plastic Arts, Ghent). De eerste activiteit van INTERFACE kadert binnen Almost Cinema, het tiendaags programma dat Vooruit presenteert in samenwerking met het Internationaal Filmfestival van Vlaanderen in Gent. Robrecht Vanderbeeken nodigt sprekers uit rond ‘immersion’

In samenwerking met Boris Debackere van Transmedia Brussel werkt Vooruit een tweede – gelinkte – symposiumdag uit – rond ‘the cinematic experience’. Daarover binnenkort meer.
Vooruit and Boris Debackere from the Transmedia post master’s course at St. Lukas, Brussels will present a second conference on the subject of the cinematic experience. More information will follow later.
