Workshop zang/stemkunst Institute for Living Voice: China's Voices
In het kader van het muziekfestival China Express slaat het Institute for Living Voice (ILV) zijn tenten op in Vooruit voor een reeks workshops met artiesten die tijdens het festival zullen optreden.
Institute for Living Voice will take residence in Ghent, Vooruit, as part of the music festival China Express which is completely dedicated to the fascinating country of China.
ILV is een internationale organisatie die workshops, masterclasses en lezingen organiseert voor zowel professionele als amateurzangers, in 2001 opgericht door David Moss en Muziektheater Transparant. De eerste editie van ILV vond ook plaats in Gent, naar aanleiding van de productie die zangeres-stemkunstenares Diamanda Galas in opdracht van Vooruit maakte in het Gentse Gravensteen.
Institute for Living Voice is an international project of Music Theater Transparant dedicated to the richness of the vocal art. Under the artistic leadership of David Moss it brings vocalists from different genres together for workshops, masterclasses and lectures. The first session of ILV took place in Gent, in collaboration with Vooruit, for the project of Diamanda Galas in the Counts’ Castle (commissioned by Vooruit).
Het programma van Institute for Living Voice: China’s Voices loopt van 28 november t.e.m. 5 december en is heel divers, met vocalisten uit de traditionele, klassieke en avant-garde muziek. De deelnemers aan de workshops krijgen les van getalenteerde en unieke zangers als de klassieke stemkunstenares Gong Linna, de vocale performer Xia He en de elektronica pionier en spoken word artiest Yan Jun. In de rand van deze editie van ILV worden ronde-tafelgesprekken georganiseerd omtrent de verschillende vocale tradities in China. Inschrijven kan nog via de website instituteforlivingvoice.be
Institute for Living Voice will offer workshops/events of Huafu Li & Li Huaxiu, Zhifang Wang, Gong Linna, He Jinhua, Xiao He, Yan Jun, Li Tie Qiao, Lander Gyselinck, Schengge, Jurgen de Blonde aka Köhn, Wu Na & Wu Fei. Op 5 december voegt Institute for Living Voice – China’s Voices daar een toonmoment aan toe. Onder de noemer Century Songs zullen 8 jonge internationale vocalisten de resultaten laten horen van hun project geïnspireerd door de Chinese vocalisten en begeleid door David Moss, Joachim Brackx en Wouter Van Looy. Welkom om 20:00 in de Domzaal, gratis.
The 5th of December 2009 there will be a first presentation moment of Century Songs at Vooruit, Ghent. The project gives 6-8 up-and-coming vocalists the chance to work with composer Joachim Brackx, David Moss & Wouter Van Looy and to take inspiration from Chinese vocalists. Join us in Vooruit’s Dome hall at 8 p.m. (free entrance).
